Amaya Ballard-Traylor, PLPC
Meet Amaya
Amaya believes therapy should be a space where people no longer have to perform, hold it all together, or hide parts of themselves. Her goal is to create an environment where clients can unmask and bring in all of who they are without judgement. She believes that only by showing up authentically can people reconnect with their values, rediscover their voice, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and aligned.
Amaya works with individuals, college students, and couples navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and personal growth. With individuals, she primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helping you build psychological flexibility and move through difficult emotions. With couples, she integrates concepts from the Gottman Method and Differentiation-Based approaches to foster deeper connection, healthier communication, and stronger relationships.
At the heart of her work is empowerment. Amaya strives to hold hope for clients when they struggle to see it themselves, helping them recognize their strengths, embrace their potential, and create lasting change.
Amaya is supervised by Kandace Calwell, LPC and Dr. Chris Lawrence, SEP
